Home of Irish Dexter Gourmet Beef
Arriving Friday February 18, Annabelle is a healthy red, homozygous polled, A2 A2 milk protein heifer. Born in the barn on a very cold nasty morning, we moved her quickly to a stall. We don't breed for February babies so we weren't prepared. Dale made a run to get wood shavings bedding while Cody and I tried to figure out who momma was, but WR Rosabelle finally stepped forward and claimed her with a soft momma moo. We believe the sire is Moosters Rawhide Romeo, but it coud be Euchee Creek Johnny Ringo. Somebody broke the gate lock back in May and the bulls spent a couple days in with the cows before we got them separated. Either way is good!
This really nice bull calf was born this morning, Monday, February 21. We knew yesterday he was on his way. His Dam, Terry Pointe Ona lost her mucas plug while we were there yesterday and I remarked to Dale we have a calf coming tonight. Sure enough Cody found the little fella snuggled in next to a round bale, with momma by his side, so no guesswork. He scooped him up and carried him to a stall in the barn and Ona followed. He is red, homozygous pollled but milk protein will not be determined till genetic testing is completed. We believe the sire is Moosters Rawhide Romeo, but it coud be Euchee Creek Johnny Ringo. Somebody broke the gate lock back in May and the bulls spent a couple days in with the cows before we got them separated. Either way is good!
This really nice heifer calf was born this morning, Thursday, February 24. We knew she was on her way. Her Dam, ESF Irish Rose ( a daughter of Hillview Redwing!) was developing an udder as well as springing. We moved her to a stall 2 days ago due to the cold icey weather. Cody found the little girl this morning so no guesswork. She is red, homozygous pollled, A2A2 milk protein. She's a keeper! We believe the sire is Moosters Rawhide Romeo, but it coud be Euchee Creek Johnny Ringo.
